1. Burn your song to CD and create a professional presentation with your name and contact information (see below for more info on this).
2. Mail or bring your CD to the radio station. For our address and/or directions call 352-313-3150 and get that information from the receptionist.
3. Call the Magic 101.3 Program Director on his music call day/time (Wednesdays 10am-Noon). This is your opportunity to tell him about your artist(s), the song and WHY it would fit with MAGIC 101.3’s programming. If you get voice mail, leave a message. You may call again but ONLY on Wednesdays 10am-Noon.
The program director (PD) is the person who decides which songs get played and how often (i.e., the amount of "rotation" or number of "spins".) If someone other than the PD tells you that your song is playing on the station, you may not be getting accurate information. The on-air talent and the mix show DJs do provide input to the PD, but the PD makes the final decision. Thus, calling and hyping y our music to a DJ on-the-air or when they’re out at an event is of little use to you and may hurt your chances as you may become known as a nuisance. As for mix shows, the mixers do decide what they’ll play during the mix, but they choose from songs already approved by the PD.
All packages must include REAL NAME, STAGE NAME, CONTACT NUMBER, EMAIL ADDRESS; you may also include promotional info (MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, stores where your music is sold, upcoming performances, etc.). Radio airplay is not guaranteed. When you send us your package, it becomes the property of MAGIC 101.3/Sunshine Broadcasting and will not be returned to you.
